Raila Odinga would want to prove himself more worth to lead the country where the President was sworn in officially few weeks ago. This occurrence will see Kenya face yet another test of time as Raila Odinga and NASA flag bearer claims he will still be sworn in on December 12th despite various divisions and warnings. We all know that Kenya now has a siting president who was sworn in on November 28TH.The NASA team and their followers states that they don’t recognize Uhuru Kenyatta as their president and wants to swear in their ‘peoples choice‘ president who is the Right Hon. Raila Odinga.

The date is in connection with Kenyans celebration of Jamhuri day. *celebrated on 12TH December each year.Jamhuri is the Swahili word for “republic” and the holiday is meant to officially mark the date of Kenya’s independence which happened on 12 December 1963. The country became an independent republic after gaining full self-governance.

The international communities, the likes of US have already said that this is against their support. This is ironic as we have seen Raila Odinga running for shelter severally to these political and economic giant countries. The Donald’s administration has already said that the act will be unconstitutional. The US acting Secretary of State for African Affairs Donald Yamamoto who met with the NASA team requested that if they dropped the call, they ‘US’ would push for dialogue to find a lasting and convincing solution between the government and them.

Majority of stake holders including the Inter-Unions and the Church has also criticized this uncalled move and requested the leaders to engage in dialogue and stop being angry powered for the sake of the direction the country is heeded.Their views are that, the move will be undermining the judiciary judgement, going against the laws of presidency on the constitution and committing treason to the Kenya government and whose move is penalized by death. This would also increase the healing wounds and bridges by the Kenyan voters and increase the polarity gaps and says dialogue would make things more smooth and swift to the divides.

Earlier today, the Attorney General of Kenya Mr. Githu Muigai and who is also the chief legal government adviser issued a statement warning the NASA counterpart that their actions would lead them into committing the treason and there would be dire consequences.”I reiterate the any attempts to swear in any person as president other than the one elected in line with the constitution and in a manner provided for in the law is unlawful, illegal null and void ab initio,” Githu Muigai told the press.

Kenyans on various social media platforms have already started showing their interest on the topic with some in support on the move while others sees it as un-ethical, uncalled and illegal.Who is to blame for all these moments temperature in political crisis in Kenya. We are yet to see as everything unfolds in time and we will be here to update you as developments comes in.
