John De Pencil-Master – Biography

The Pencil Master Kenya

Back in high school (I attended an Art’s Magnet Class), there was an entire Lesson where we began each day in homeroom by doing a pencil-weight control exercise. It’s very simple. You take a piece of paper and draw five boxes on it. Then, using a single pencil, fill in each box with a different color value, from lightest to darkest. The next day, draw six boxes and repeat the exercise. The following day, seven boxes — and so forth and so on.No matter how many boxes you draw, each one must always contain a slightly different color value. At the end of a month, you’ll be the master of any pencil you pick up. Almost any pencil you find can create hundreds of color values! If you ask one @pencilmaster_kenya  he will answer you with that!

Pencil Drawing

Pencil drawing –drawing executed with an instrument composed of graphite enclosed in a wood casing and intended either as a sketch for a more elaborate work in another medium, an exercise in visual expression, or a finished work. The cylindrical graphite pencil, because of its usefulness in easily producing linear gray-black strokes, became the successor of the older, metallic drawing stylus, with which late medieval and Renaissance artists and tradesmen sketched or wrote on paper, parchment, or wood. Pencil Master Kenya Story.

John was born in Kisii on the 5th of March 1993. He is a visual artist dealing with many forms including painting, pencil and charcoal drawing. He is a talented and self-motivated individual that gained his skills through severe practice. He is mostly inspired by nature and reality thus he draws his subjects with special attention to detail, and the result is hyper-realistic drawings.  He was greatly influenced by the works of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo and more recent hyper-realistic pencil artists like Emmanuele Dascanio (Italy) and Kelvin Okafor (UK). He started his artistic journey 5 years ago but commercialized it 2 years ago. He draws clients from all over the world, most recently to the USA, UK, Dubai and many others the, however, a majority of them are from Kenya including the likes of Gloria Muliro and Betty Kyalo among many other Public figures and nature.

The Creation of Gloria Muliro Portrait

The creation of Gloria Muliro was an inspiration that came to him through the good work the Artist was doing all over the world. From doing sensational works, charity missions and taking music for God and not in praise of money or humanity. Through his posting, Gloria Muliro communications manager Joseph Mucira discovered his skills and had the Pencil Master present the Art piece to Gloria Muliro by Himself. Ever since The Master has put more seriousness in his work and completed successful artwork to be sent all over the world.

His Vision

His skills are demonstrated his artistic skills “like a man who awoke too early in the darkness, while the others were all still asleep.”He accounts for most of the masterpiece on observations, inventions, technology, and the world spread information through photography. Most notably, he believes that sight was mankind’s most important sense and that “saper vedere”(“knowing how to see”) is crucial to living all aspects of life fully. He sees science and art as complementary rather than distinct disciplines and thinks that ideas formulated in one realm could—and should—inform the other. Sketching is almost everything. It is the painter’s identity, his style, his conviction, and the color is just a gift to the drawing.”It is only by drawing often, drawing everything, drawing incessantly, that one fine day you discover to your surprise that you have rendered something in its true character. ” By Camille Pissarro.
