The true meaning of unconditional love.
Unconditional love is, in essence, true love that so different from the kind of love. Most of us have known all our lives. It deserves a definition of its own. Moreover, the majority of us confuses the types of love we offer and the one we expect in return. But the love of Our God to Humankind is Unconditional. Unconditional love is caring for the happiness of another person without any thinking of what we might get for ourselves. It’s unconditional love when other people care about our happiness unconditionally. Now for me, this is slightly “touchy-feely.” Even dipping into the conversation about love and true love. What real love can give the impression. That we’ve gone all soft and hippie. However, it’s important for each of us to be aware of when we experience unconditional love. And more importantly, how to share it with another individual.
How does one explain this unique unconditional love
If God loves everybody, what’s so special about the fact that he loves me? As a matter of fact, Is God ’s unconditional love for all of us exactly the same. And does that mean there’s nothing individual or unique about our relationship with Him? Is His love for me or us equal or unique? In fact, these are some of the questions you or someone else is also asking on the back bench. Often in our human attempts to make all things fair, God loves us all the same. As good as this may initially sound, the same just isn’t big enough. The word same implies that we might be somehow replaceable or interchangeable. Take a deep breath and listen. God loves us uniquely rather than equally. Believe me, unique is better.
Traits of unconditional love
Equal implies God’s love is measurable. But It’s infinite. In addition, unique carry so much more depth. There is only one like you! Saint Augustine says it best. “God loves each of us. As if there was only one of us.” “Our Father’s love is not a pan of brownies”. Or a cherry pie a loving parent cuts into equal portions so as not to slight no child. His marvelous love is not subject to portion control. Do you understand He loved you before there was a beginning, and His love for you knows no end? You can turn from Him, run away, and make your bed in hell. But your actions will not stop His love. (Seriously though, who’d want to sleep in hell?)
I can tell you something about yourself that even you may not realize. And, want you to understand how I know it. What do you think it is that I know about you? The answer: You are a masterpiece! When God made you, He really did break the mold! There is no other person who is exactly like you! Above all, you are an original! Knowing that we have a purpose should humble us. Even more, it should make us realize just how much God loves us. We understand that no two people have the same fingerprint. That blows my mind just to consider. There is no other one in the human population who has the identical pattern that I have or you have. Can you imagine that? Even if we are around 7.6 Billion as of the date and no one has your fingerprint.
Teachings from the bible
The Book of Psalms is one of my favorite sections of the Bible. Above all, has some basic truths expressed in a poetic and graceful style. In Psalm 139, “I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works. That my soul knows right well.” There are so many people today who don’t give God. And our relationship with Him a second thought. Meanwhile, with each passing day, we gain a new appreciation for how He has blessed us. Moreover, he has a purpose in mind for us. We sin, fail and be helpless to live up to His expectations. However, he gave us a chance. Even though we fail Him. He provides us with hope and a way back to Him. “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. (Jeremiah 31:3 ESV).”
The right way to channel this Unconditional love
Know ye that the Lord is God; it is He that has made us and not we ourselves. We are his people, and the sheep of his flock.” God has made us for His glory, to serve Him. Further, Paul reminds us in First Corinthians. “Glorify God in your body. In your spirit which belongs to God.” He is saying that we should not abuse what God has given us. Often, we do not use what God has given us in the right way. We mistreat our bodies by smoking, drinking, using drugs, overeating or other things. Thus, we fail to fulfill our greatest potential in our work, morals, and relationships with other people. We know we should not do it. Whereas, we know how far the Lord has brought us and where He is leading us.
You may not always feel like a masterpiece. There are times when we feel anything but! Living life here on this planet is not always easy. Though, the Lord wants us to know how much He loves us. Moreover, with us even in times of despair. If you feel abandoned today, please know that God is there. He may be just waiting for you to call on Him. Always feel free to pray to Him. And ask Him to come into your life to bring new hope, purpose, meaning, and direction. Express your love for Him and promise you will worship and serve Him faithfully.
