About David Adede
In Migori County, near the southwestern border between Kenya and Tanzania, David Adede was raised in a humble background. After completing high school, he had to take up odd jobs to cater for the basic needs. He started off as a charcoal burner to a casual laborer at sugarcane plantation, later as second-hand cloth dealer before finally landing a contract as an Untrained Teacher. David later got an employment as a market clerk with British American Tobacco (K) before joining the University of Nairobi. As a student, he was lucky to receive support from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) while partly operating as an amateur photographer to generate extra income for survival in the campus. He served in Chiromo Campus Christian Union’s Executive Committee and participated in several evangelistic missions.
He is currently the Managing Director of Rock Link Geological Consultants Ltd, married with children and worships at Chrisco Fellowship Church. He is a worship leader, entrepreneur, author, TV show host and a motivational speaker.
Holding a Bachelors and a Master of Science degree in Geology from The University of Nairobi, David is a Consulting Geologist and Managing Director of Rock Link Geological Consultants Ltd.
David started singing at the age of 10 during Sunday school. He led the youth choir at the age of 12 when his older cousin identified his gift. A few weeks later, the cousin used a radio cassette to record David’s first songs. He completed recording his first full album Pokea Utukufu in 2015 after a series of challenging experiences that saw him go back to the drawing board, including enrolling for music classes at Daystar University in 2014. As David in the bible who is well known as a worshiper, David Adede’s genre is worship. His latest hits include Sitachoka, Iduong, Twakutegemea and Tuma Mvua (Ft. Sarah K).
He quotes Romans 1:20 as his favorite worship verse. David has founded Acts Eternal Society which identifies, promotes and nurture talents, especially among young people, besides doing other charity works. The society identifies gifted youths from humble backgrounds and sponsors their music production through a partnership with some of the best producers in Kenya. Some of the latest events include Sitachoka outreach that brought together over 4000 orphans and widows at Uthiru Gichagi Polytechnics, Kiambu County, to mark World Aids Day on 1st December 2016 and Orphans fun day at Pillars of Hope Children’s Home in Kitengela on 4th February 2017. Both the events were published in Salon Magazines, January 2017 and March 2017 editions respectively.
The society is now organizing the first of a kind talent search that will bring together over 300 orphans from various children’s homes in April. The event will involve auditions and mentorship programs as the participants interact with various renown successful artists.
